Sponshorship ident for MTV’s
‘MTV Nights’ scheduling block.
MTV wanted a sting that could also double as a framing device for a sponsorship - something that would work independant of content and have strong MTV branding.
The artwork draws from the vibrancy of urban nightlife - the high-contrast of neon signage, late-night diners, underground clubs. This was the logical direction based on the poppy colours of the MTV colour palette.
The sting opens on an abstract cityscape before crashing through a building’s window into a living room kitted out for a house party; bringing the nightlife into the front room and onto your TV. An alternative shorter sting was made using a billboard exploding out from behind the cityscape to display the sponsorship messaging to replace the living room scene.
